About Azofen 1mg Tablet
KETOTIFEN belongs to a class of anti-histamine or anti-allergic drugs, primarily used to treat a wide variety of allergies. It is also used to treat symptoms of asthma by decreasing inflammation in the lungs. An allergy is an immune system response to foreign elements typically not harmful to your body. These foreign elements are known as ‘allergens.’ Allergic condition varies from person to person. Some might be allergic to certain foods and seasonal allergies like hay fever. At the same time, others might be allergic to pollen or pet dander.
KETOTIFEN contains Ketotifen, an anti-histamine, which is used to treat allergies. It blocks the effects of a chemical messenger known as ‘histamine,’ which is naturally involved in allergic reactions. Additionally, KETOTIFEN also treats hay fever (seasonal allergic rhinitis) and reduces asthma symptoms by reducing inflammation in the lungs. So, blocking the effect of histamine KETOTIFEN helps to reduce the symptoms of various allergies.

Directions for Use
KETOTIFEN can be taken with or without food. The tablet form of KETOTIFEN should be swallowed as a whole with a glass of water, do not chew or crush it. The eye drops should be put as advised by your doctor. The syrup form should be shaken well before use and then taken in dose as prescribed by a doctor.
Side Effects of Azofen 1mg Tablet
Like all medicines, KETOTIFEN also has some side effects. The tablet and syrup form of KETOTIFEN may cause irritation, drowsiness, hyperactivity, sleep disturbances in some cases. The eye drops may cause watery eyes, running nose, eye irritation. Most of these side effects of KETOTIFEN do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. Drug Warnings
Do not take KETOTIFEN if you are allergic to Ketotifen or any of its ingredients. KETOTIFEN is known to interact if you have diabetes or epilepsy. Also, as it is a category C pregnancy drug, it is unknown whether KETOTIFEN can harm the baby or not, so it should be taken with caution. So, if you are breastfeeding or pregnant, only taken $nam if prescribed by a doctor. KETOTIFEN is known to cause drowsiness, so alcohol intake can increase it and may lead to unpleasant side effects. Also, if you are using eye drops, please remove contact lenses before using KETOTIFEN. Do not use two eye medications together; wait for at least 5 minutes before using the second medication.

Drug-Drug Interaction:
Oral form KETOTIFEN may interact with muscle relaxants (carisoprodol, cyclobenzaprine), other antihistamines (cetirizine, diphenhydramine), cough relievers (codeine, hydrocodone), drugs for sleep or anxiety (alprazolam, lorazepam, zolpidem).
Drug-Disease Interaction:
An oral form of KETOTIFEN is known to interact if you have diabetes and epilepsy, and an ophthalmic form may interact if you have glaucoma.

DRIVING
KETOTIFEN is an anti-allergic medication; it is known to cause drowsiness and dizziness in some cases. So, if you feel dizzy, please avoid driving a car or operating any machinery which requires concentration. If you are using eye drops, it can cause blurry vision

KETOTIFEN to be taken with caution, especially if you have or have had a history of liver disease. Your doctor will have to change the dosage depending on your medical condition and your reaction to treatment.
